Perception Is Everything

Summary

Perception Is Everything (known as PIE for short), is the upcoming first video game release from ScoBee Studios. Developed exclusively for PC, PIE is a single player RPG where the player finds themselves in the last metropolis known to man, set in a dystopian world.

Long since have the people of the city heard any news from outside the walls which protect them. There was once widespread panic after reports came in detailing numerous attacks in other populated areas. Slowly the news coming in died down to a trickle and before long the only response was static. After anarchy in the streets and the collapse of the government, big businesses were the only ones locally with the sufficient resources to keep the city afloat and so they banded together for the sake of everyone. Further known as The Conglomerate, they now run every facet of the city.

Citizens all have of their needs met and have no desire to question those now in charge. They are simply asked to perform their roles in the community to assist in keeping things running as smoothly as possible during these dire times. They are however strictly forbidden from leaving the city limits for their own safety.

As a young man who has always lived off the grid and managed to stay under the radar, it is up to you to peek behind the veil and find out what is really going on. There has to be more to these attacks and The Conglomerate are the ones who would know. What really lies beyond those concrete barricades? Is there anybody else out there?

Gameplay

One of the unique features that sets this game apart is a gameplay mechanic which puts the player in control of opposing characters in subsequent playthroughs. When viewed from a different perspective and having the knowledge from the first time around, who is really the bad guy after it's all said and done?

That's not to say the game will be overly repetitive when playing for a second time though. Where you first start out as a young man looking for answers about a possibly corrupt system, next you play as the head honcho of the very same company you once were certain was guilty in some shape of form. Now you're plagued by this previously unknown man who is questioning your methods and trying to drag down the morale of the people.

It's young vs. old, rebelliousness vs. structure. Where one man seeks knowledge and has a youthful exuberance, the other is the wiser and more level-headed of the two. As for who is really the bad guy? Well that's up to you. Perception Is Everything.
